The Underwater Council of British Columbia

The Underwater Council of British Columbia, a Non Profit Society operating with Volunteers and funded by Donations, has been serving BC Recreational Divers since 1991.

Recreational scuba diving is a very safe sport but as we enter an environment that is inhospitable to human life, there are many safety factors that must be considered.

An issue that is simply a nuisance on the surface can create stress, disorientation or mortal danger if the diver is unprepared.

One of the mandates of the Underwater Council of British Columbia is to promote safer diving and reduce fatalities that could be avoided through education.

This section was created by the UCBC Safety Advisor to shed light on the common and not so common problems that can be encountered by divers in British Columbia and abroad.
